The affordable collection is an expansion of Royal Asscher’s Stars of Africa line that benefits its Africa-focused fundraising initiative of the Diamond Empowerment Fund (DEF). It is comprised of new materials: 18k rose and yellow gold or rhodium-plated sterling silver. Another new combination is white and black ceramic combined with 18k rose, yellow and white gold.
The diamond filled globes, the hallmark of the collection, are filled 0.50 carat or 1.00 carat of diamonds – depending on the size of the globe.
The material choice allows the retail prices to start at just $1,950. “The Shining Stars designs stand as a symbol of vibrant beauty of the African continent and its people. Pieces are bold, playful, and whimsical. I think we were able to achieve a modern, minimal and clean look with our new floating-diamonds collection," Lita Asscher, president of Royal Asscher of America said.
According to Ahluwalia, “We are very excited to introduce new materials with our floating diamonds concept. African savannah, abstract leopard and cheetah prints became my inspiration source for the 'Shining Stars' collection. One of 2011’s hottest looks, we are seeing this exotic trend hugely influencing runways and street fashion. The new collection is versatile because patterns are so compatible and classic.”
The Shining Stars collection will make its debut at the upcoming Luxury at JCK and JCK Las Vegas Show, Booth # 1120.
