Diamond Tiara and Art Deco Bracelet top Items at Christie's Important Jewels

– Christie's sale of Important Jewels held in London Wednesday totaled $12.3 million, representing 92% sold by value. The top lot was the Rosebery pearl and diamond tiara, circa 1878, which sold for $1.9 million, near the lower end of the pre-auction estimate.

 

The auction also registered a record price for an Art Deco 'Tutti Frutti' bracelet by Cartier, circa 1928, which fetched $1.9 million – about double the pre-auction estimates.

 

A D/VS1 rectangular-shaped diamond ring weighing 5.32 carats, sold to a private collector for $189,125 or about $35,550 p/c.
