Belgium's Net Polished Exports Up 5% in September

(IDEX Online News) – The seasonal dip behind, Belgium's polished diamond exports rebounded in September. Belgium exported 731,221 carats of polished diamond worth $1.64 billion, tripling in value compared to August.

The value of September's exports surged 30.1 percent year-over-year, however the volume of trade fell by 9.5percent.

Net exports of $110.3 million are a modest 5 percent increase from September 2010.

Hong Kong, which hosted a large trade fair in September, was the leading destination of Belgium's exports, 246,305 carats worth $697.2 million.
