Israeli Industry Mourns Passing of Michael Cohen
April 30, 15(IDEX Online News) – Michael Cohen, a former director general of the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE), died recently at the age of 97.
Born in 1918, Cohen was one of the founders of the Israeli diamond industry. Following the merger of the State of Israel Diamond Club and the Diamond Exchange into one entity in 1952, he served as managing director until 1978.
Following the establishment of the Israel Diamond Exchange Enterprises Ltd. in 1965, he also served simultaneously as its managing director.
Cohen was a law graduate of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
He is survived by his wife Devorah and his sons Ehud, chairman of IDEX Online, and Yoram.
