ALROSA Names 84-Carat Stone 'Mothers of Russia'

(IDEX Online News) – ALROSA president Andrey Zharkov signed an order following a meeting of the company’s special commission to give an 83.59-carat gem quality diamond the name ‘Mothers of Russia.’
The Aikhal Mining and Processing Division extracted the stone from plant No.14 on February 13, after its recovery from the Yubileynaya pipe. The diamond of '2 Black Sawables 3 colour' quality contains small graphite-sulphide inclusions, is octahedron-shaped and is transparent with a yellowish hue. The stone measures 28mm x 26.5mm x 26mm.
