The IDEX Online Polished Price Report - October 2019

(IDEX Online) - While the price of round diamonds was mostly stable in October, especially for the smaller goods, there was some positive movement in 0.3- to 0.5-carat rounds. Prices of goods sized 2 carats and above saw more movement with a number of categories experiencing a decline. 

There was more movement in the prices of fancy goods, especially from 0.70 carats and up. Certain categories saw prices both rising and falling, notably 0.80-0.89 carats and 4 carats.

Following are some of the main changes in this week's IDEX Online Diamond Price Report.

• 0.18-0.22 ct. IF-VVS1 / I-J -3%

• 0.23-0.29 ct. K / VVS1 +4%

• 0.30-0.39 ct. G / VVS2-VS2 +2%

• 0.40-0.44 ct. E / VVS1-VVS2 and K /SI1-SI2 +3-4%

• 0.45-0.49 ct. A few changes including E / VVS2-VS1 +3-3.5% and M / SI1 -4%

• 0.50-0.69 ct. H-I / VVS2-VS1 +1.5-4%

• 0.70-0.79 ct. Isolated changes including H-I / VVS1 -2.5-3%, I-J / I2 +4% and L / I2 -5%

• 0.80-0.89 ct. K-M / I1-I2 -3-5%

• 0.90-0.99 ct. A few increases including D / VS2, G-IF and K / VVS1 +3%

• 1.00-1.24 ct. No changes except N / VVS2 -3%

• 1.25-1.49 ct. E / IF -2% and N / VVS2 -3%

• 1.50-1.99 ct. D / VS1 -3%

• 2.00-2.99 ct. E-H / IF +1-2%, I-M / VVS1 -3% and F-G / VS1 -3%

• 3.00-3.99 ct. Some changes including D-E / VVS2 -1-3% and G-H / VS2 -3%

• 4.00-4.99 ct. A few changes including I / VS1-VVS2 -3% and J / VS1 and SI1 +1-3%

• 5.00-5.99 ct. H-I / VS1 -3% and L-N / SI1 +-3.5% 

Fancy Cuts

• 0.18-0.22 ct. E-F / IF-VVS1 -3-4%

• 0.23-0.29 ct. No changes

• 0.30-0.39 ct. A few changes including G / VVS1-VVS2 -2.5-3%

• 0.40-0.44 ct. D-F / VVS2-VS1 -3-4%, G-H / IF -3% and F and I / VS2 +2-3%

• 0.45-0.49 ct. D-E / VS2 +3-3.5%

• 0.50-0.69 ct. A few isolated changes including G / IF -6%, I / VS2 -4% and F / I2 +4%

• 0.70-0.79 ct. A number of changes including E / IF-VVS12 and VS1 +2.5-3% and F / VVS2-VS1 and G / VS1-VS2 and SI2 -3-3.5%

• 0.80-0.89 ct. Movement in the better colors and qualities including D-E / VVS2 +2-5% and G-H / VS2 and SI2 -2.5-3.5%

• 0.90-0.99 ct. F-G / IF-VVS2 +2-3%

• 1.00-1.24 ct. A limited number of changes including D / IF +3% and F-G / VVS2 +1-3%

• 1.25-1.49 ct. D / VVS2-VS1 +3%

• 1.50-1.99 ct. A few positive changes in the lower colors and better qualities including N / VVS1 and VS1 +3%

• 2.00-2.99 ct. A handful of positive changes including E / VS1-VS2 +2.5-3% and F / VS2-SI1 +3%

• 3.00-3.99 ct. E / VVS2 and F / SI3 -3% and H / VS1 +3%

• 4.00-4.99 ct. A number of changes including D-F / VS1 and I-J / VS2 -3% and D-H / I1 +3-4% 

• 5.00-5.99 ct. Many changes including  H-J / VS2 and L-N / SI1 +3% and many negative changes in the better colors and lower qualities including F / VS2-I1 -1-6% and E-J / I2 -3-4%
