Anglo Directors Sell $5.5m Shares in Commodity Boom

March 16, 21 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - De Beers boss Bruce Cleaver and two other Anglo American directors have sold $5.5m of their shares in the company.

The share price has surged by almost 40 per cent since the commodities rally began last November.

Cleaver (pictured), CEO of De Beers, sold 25,000 shares for just over £$1m, according to a report in Shares magazine.

Didier Charreton, Anglo's director of people and organization, sold shares in a deal worth $3.6m and Ruben Fernandes, CEO of its base metals division, sold shares worth $882,000.

Commodity prices were badly hit by the pandemic in the first half of 2020, but Anglo bounced back with second-half earnings of $6.5bn, its best performance in a decade.
