Manufacturer Re-united with Lost Box of Rough Diamonds

July 22, 21 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - A diamond manufacturer in Surat was re-united with a box of rough stones worth $27,000 that he left behind at a safety deposit vault.

Rahul Moradiya placed it on top of his locker at Katargam Safe, in the Kartargam area of the city, then forgot about it.

The manager spotted the box that evening and put it in safe place. Moradiya, who runs a small unit in Bambawadi, returned the following day.

The owner of the vault was satisfied after questioning him and checking the CCTV footage, and gave him back the gems.

"I would have suffered a huge loss if I had lost the roughs. I am not in position to bear more losses," Moradiya told The Times of India.
