6.75-ct Pink Diamond could Fetch $11m at Christie's

October 25, 21 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - A 6.75-ct pink diamond ring, with a high estimate of $10.9m, is among the highlights of the Christie's Geneva Magnificent Jewels Sale early next month.

Lots previously announced include a pair of diamond bracelets that originally belonging to Queen Marie-Antoinette of France, comprising 112 diamonds with an estimate of $2m to $4m.

And a ruby and diamond bracelet presented by Britain's King Edward VII to the American socialite Wallis Simpson has an estimate of $1.1m to $2.2m.

The newly-announced pink diamond (pictured) is described as heart modified brilliant-cut, fancy-vivid-purple-pink, SI1-clarity.

Also among the 77 lots is a 55.50 carat diamond, said to be potentially internally flawless and with the optical excellence of an 18th century Golconda gem (estimate $4.35m to $5.45m).

And the fancy-vivid-yellow African Sunflower, a 42.98 -ct VS1 clarity stone, that is expected to fetch $2.2m to $4.35m.

The sale takes place on 9 November.
