(IDEX Online) - A police officer has been commended after he stopped to help a motorist with a flat tire, and found $75,000 of stolen jewelry stashed in his trunk.
Kyle Tolliver became suspicious when the driver appeared upset and nervous. He searched his car and discovered 65 items of jewelry - which all turned out to be repair items from JC Penney and Macy's stores at the Southland Mall, Taylor, Michigan, USA.
They'd been stolen from a UPS delivery truck, said the Brownstown Township Police Department, Michigan.
"If anything, what I'm most proud about is getting these priceless heirlooms back to the rightful owners," said Tolliver, who has been commended for good police work.
