Odell Wears $200,000 Diamond Cleats for Super Bowl

February 14, 22 by

(IDEX Online) - American football star Odell Beckham Jr wore the most expensive cleats in NFL history at Sunday's Super Bowl - encrusted with 1,494 brilliant round diamonds and with a $200,000 price tag.

It took over 100 hours to set the gems in the Nike swoosh of his blue and gold Los Angeles Rams shoes, which he wore for the warm-up at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, though not for the game itself.

They were created by Dominic Ciambrone, of theshoesurgeon.com, and the bespoke diamond high jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills, who used 150 grams of 14 karat yellow gold.

"It's not about making the most expensive cleat," Ciambrone told People. "Odell's not only a top player, but he's a big personality and he likes fashion and he likes to stand out and that's what I like. So it just kind of all came together."

Odell, 29, scored the first touchdown of the game, but was injured in the second quarter. His team beat the Cininatti Bengals 20-23.
