Abraham Accords: Israel Opens Office in Dubai Diamond Exchange
February 23, 22
(IDEX Online) - The Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) has opened a representative office for the first time at its Dubai counterpart, to further promote trade.
Business between Israel and the UAE has flourished since it was officially sanctioned by the Abraham Accords of August 2020, which normalized relations between the countries.
The official opening of the office, including the affixing of a mezuza - a Hebrew scroll on the doorpost - took place yesterday (see picture) as 550 industry leaders attended the fifth Dubai Diamond Conference.
The IDE office, located at the Dubai Diamond Exchange (DDE) in Almas Tower, is designed to make doing business easier for Israeli diamond companies operating in or looking to set up in Dubai.
The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) is, for the first time, showcasing natural loose diamonds and diamond jewelry from a dozen companies at the Jewellery, Gem & Technology Dubai (JGT Dubai) which ends tomorrow.
