Louis Vuitton's LV "Looks Like Russia's Pro-War Z"

March 29, 22 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - Louis Vuitton has been come under fire online over its new fine jewelry collection - because the LV initials look like Russia's pro-war 'Z' symbol.

Thousands of social media have pointed out the similarities between the two.

Rapper Kid Cudi and actresses Jin Chen and Alicia Vikander have been photographed with the range of unisex pendants, rings, earrings and bracelets first launched in 2020 but now being promoted again.

Louis Vuitton says LV Volt (pictured) is a fine jewelry collection "where the iconic LV initials come together, split apart and intertwine in a myriad of combinations to become a metaphor for movement and a symbol of energy".

Critics say it closely resembles the 'Z' seen on Russian tanks, buildings and elsewhere as a sign of support for the invasion of Ukraine.

One posted: "Z is a symbol on Russian tanks. This is a symbol with which they attacked us. This symbol represents violence and deaths."

Louis Vuitton said it was paying tribute to the French founder of the brand, who died in 1892.
