(IDEX Online) - A robber convicted of an $800,000 raid on a US jewelry store has been jailed for 10 years, and ordered to pay $500,000 in restitution.
Kenneth Jones, 41, stole an estimated 700 pieces of vintage and designer jewelry, valued at $800,000, from Pretty in Patina, in Omaha, Nebraska, in February 2018.
Fingerprints found on a garbage bag he left behind at the scene led detectives to his last known address, where they found two rings from the raid.
Jones acted alone in the robbery, wearing a mask, clothed entirely in black, and brandishing what appeared to be a handgun.
He will serve his sentence consecutively with a 220-month term for a bank robbery in Texas.
The federal court in Omaha ordered him to compensate the store for $500,000 losses suffered in the crime.
CCTV still shows Jones during the raid.
