Anger over Paltrow's $8,000 "Everyday" Jewelry

June 29, 22 by John Jeffay

(IDEX Online) - Gwyneth Paltrow is again under fire, over the price of her new "everyday" jewelry collection.

Social media users say the new range - including a $7,900 gold necklace with 1.96 ctw of white diamonds - is "out of touch", "unaffordable" and far from being "everyday".

The Hollywood A-lister, aged 49, launched new pieces branded as G. Label through her online business Goop last week.  She said on Instagram that the collection was "meant to be worn every day".

Paltrow, who takes off most of her clothes to model the jewelry, says on her website: "Everything here is so beautiful, you'll never want to take it off. And it's all so wearable, you won't have to."

The actress, who starred in Sliding Doors, Iron Man and Shakespeare in Love, attracted similar controversy with her debut G. Label jewelry collection last June.
