IDEX Price Report for 1 July: More Losses as Uncertainty Continues

(IDEX Online) - There were many losses in June, as there were in May. The war continues in Ukraine, as do the sanctions on Russian rough, and Indian manufacturers are still filling the supply gaps, especially among smalls, by switching to lab grown. In May we saw more increase among goods over 2.0-cts seeking refuge from the stock market. In June those increases were limited to goods over 4.0-cts.

Rounds

Price drops dominated overall in goods of all sizes under 4.00-cts. Larger stones, up to 5.99-cts, saw many price rises. There was little movement in goods under 0.50-cts. There were clusters of price drops in 0.50-cts to 0.79-cts and 0.90-cts to 0.99-cts, mostly among H+ and SI+ goods. There was more of a mix of movements among 1.00-cts to 3.99-cts.

Fancies

A similar story to rounds, with prices generally falling. There were significant concentrations of price drops in goods 0.50-cts to 0.89-cts, especially I+ and SI2+. There were mixed movements in 1.00-cts to 4.99-cts.  Price rises dominated in 5.00-cts to 5.99-cts.
