Manufacturer Reunited with Lost Diamond Packet

January 02, 23 by John Jeffay

IDEX Online) - Diamond manufacturer Kalpesh Jetani has been reunited with polished gems he lost on the way to deposit them at a vault in Surat, India.

The packet, valued at $8,500, was found by textile entrepreneur Dharmesh Sakhiya, who posted notices at diamond markets across the city's' Varachha district.

Mr Jetani spotted one such notice at the Prince Safe Deposit Vault, made contact, and had the diamonds returned at the Surat Diamond Association (SDA).

Damji Mavani, SDA secretary, told The Blunt Times: "We admire the people of Varachha and Katargam for their humanity and spirit. Only in Surat's diamond district are lost diamond packets returned."
