(IDEX Online) - Exclusive watchmaker Jacob & Co has unveiled its latest ultra-extravagant timepiece, the Billionaire Timeless Treasure, incorporating 216.89 carats of Asscher-cut fancy yellow and intense yellow diamonds. And a $20m price tag.
It's a one-off watch to aspire to, especially if you're looking to trade up from the entry-level Millionaire launched in 2018, set with 127.45 carats of square emerald-cut intense yellow diamonds at a relatively modest $6m.
Jacob & Co said it took three-and-a-half years to source a total of 482 perfectly-matched yellow gems to make the new Billionaire.
It was a process that involved buying up 880 carats of yellow rough and "almost dried up the market for exceptionally large and high quality yellow diamonds," the company said. The watch also boasts 76 green tsavorites, with a total weight of 3.59 carats.
