The thieves took dore bars - a semi-pure alloy of gold and silver which is transported to the refinery - containing 500 ounces of gold (currently trading at around $2,000/ounce).

Three workers suffered minor injuries during the incident, early on Monday morning (17 April), according to a company statement.
