World's Happiest Animal, Set with Argyle Pinks

September 19, 24 by

(IDEX Online) - A jeweler in Australia has created a limited edition of quokkas - small marsupials with a reputation for being the world's happiest animal - each set with 3.39 carats of Argyle Pinks.

The limited edition of three Argyle Pink Quokkas have been crafted by Linneys, based in Subiaco, Western Australia, and they're priced at over AUD 500,000 (USD 340,000).

They draw on two of Western Australia's finest natural wonders - Argyle pinks and the quokka.

Each is made with around 280g of 18K yellow and rose gold, together with 10.62 carats of white diamonds and 0.34 carats of Argyle champagne diamonds.

The quokkas have a leaf encrusted with the 2.99 carats of Argyle Pink diamonds, which detaches to form a separate necklace.

Quokka are a rare, nocturnal native species that live on the shores of Rottnest Island, a small island off the coast of Perth, where they're believed to number 10,000 to 12,000.

Argyle's fancy color diamonds are highly prized by collectors, especially since the mine closed in November 2022.
