Soccer Star's $1m Gold and Diamond Mask

(IDEX Online) - Soccer player Victor James Osimhen has splashed out up to $1m on a huge gold and diamond replica of the mask he wears after breaking a cheekbone.
The bespoke piece was crafted by New York-based Benny Da Jeweler using 1 kg of rose gold and over 275 carats of diamonds - in emerald, baguette, round, pear and marquise cuts to mimic the appearance of Osimhen's carbon fiber mask.
Osimhen, aged 27 is a Nigerian national currently on loan from the Italian club Napoli to the Turkish team Galatasaray, where he is reportedly paid $6.5m a year.
The protective mask has become his on-pitch trademark since he fractured his eye socket and cheekbone playing against Inter Milan in November 2021.
