Stevens Quits IGI after Less than a Year

June 11, 25 by john jeffay

(IDEX Online) - Tiffany Stevens has quit after less than a year as head of the North American branch of IGI, the International Gemological Institute.

She replaced Avi Levy in July 2024, after he joined rival lab GCAL by Sarine.

No reason has been given for her departure and there is currently no word on who will replace her, or what her next move will be.

"We extend our sincere thanks to Tiffany for her contributions during her time at IGI and wish her all the best in her future endeavors," the lab said in a statement.

In a LinkedIn post, Stevens (pictured) writes: "I have made the decision to step down in my role as Head of North America at IGI.

"Working in such an impactful role and collaborating with our clients has been a truly enriching experience.

"If we've crossed paths during my tenure at IGI, I thank you for your collaboration.

"And after I enjoy a marvelous summer, I am very excited about what will come next."

During her tenure, Stevens was involved in taking IGI into the Indian public market and expanded her expertise at the intersection of science, global trade, sustainability, and technology.

Stevens, who has a degree from the NYU School of Law, was president and CEO of the Jewelers Vigilance Committee (JVC) before joining IGI as chief business officer and head of sustainability for North America.

IGI, a network of 30 laboratories and 19 gemology schools, is the world's second-largest independent certification and accreditation company after GIA.
