It Cost How Much? Taylor Swift's Engagement Ring

(IDEX Online) - Taylor Swift is engaged - and for the diamond world that means intense speculation about the size, the spec and the price of her diamond.
What we do know is that Travis Kelce, an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs, presented her yesterday (Tuesday 26 August) with an old mine brilliant cut diamond ring, on a hand-engraved yellow gold band created by Kindred Lubeck of New York-based Artifex Fine Jewelry.
The rest is speculation, based on the Instagram picture the couple posted to announce their news.
The diamond is anywhere between 7 and 13 carats depending on different expert assessments. Most likely 8 to 10.
Clarity is likely VS1, maybe VVS.
Color is anywhere between D and F.
Price is estimated at anywhere between $125,000 and $5 million if you believe some of the wildest guesses. More realistically $650,000 to $1m.
Swift, reckoned by Forbes to have amassed a $1.6bn fortune, and Kelce, both aged 35, have been dating for about a year. Kelce went to a Taylor concert and tried to connect by giving her a friendship bracelet with his phone number.
