Rolling out the Fancy Color Rarity Report
September 02, 25
(IDEX Online) - The Rarity Report, an in-depth analysis of how rare any particular pink, blue, yellow and other fancy color diamond is in the market, is to be made more widely available.
The Fancy Color Research Foundation (FCRF) will produce a printed version from a database that has so far been available only to its members.
The Rarity Report will be available for jewelers, dealers, collectors, and even buyers to buy and consult alongside a standard grading report. It is based not on a wealth of data, rather than any examination of the actual stone. The price has not been disclosed.
It is an addition to a grading report - it tells you exactly how rare that any combination of gemological attributes is in the global market (production data, frequency, charts, and rarity analysis).
"For years, the Rarity Report has been a must-have in its digital format, earning a loyal following among FCRF members for its rigorous methodology, market insights, and GIA-supported evaluations," the FCRF said.
"Now, the tactile printed edition adds a new dimension to the experience — turning data into something you can hold, reference, and display.
"Jewelers and dealers can now present buyers with state-of-the-art documentation that enhances the storytelling, educational value, and sense of significance surrounding each diamond purchase."
