IDEX Price Report for 1 January: Still No Signs of a Recovery
January 01, 26
(IDEX Online) - 2025 ended, as expected, with more price drops. 2024 ended with cautious optimism about a recovery. There have been some gains during the year in +2.00-cts goods, but there are still no signs of a real recovery. And it may be that we shouldn't expect a recovery in the traditional sense.
Rounds
Price drops dominated yet again, with over three times more decreases than increases. In goods 0.70-cts to 1.99-cts there were clusters of decreases among better colors and clarities (G+, VS2+) with barely any increases. In larger sizes (2.00-cts to 5.99-cts) there was significantly more movement, in both directions, but still more prices going down than up. There was limited activity in goods below 0.70-cts.
