De Beers LV To Open Japan Store in September

De Beers LV, the De Beers retail joint venture with LVMH, is planning to open a store within a Tokyo department store in September.

Until now De Beers LV had one store in London’s trendy Old Bond Street, opened last November. The department store shop will be called ‘De Beers’, like the London store.

De Beers considers the Japanese market an important one and while diamond imports to the country are slowly decreasing reflecting the economic woes it’s going through, the luxury goods market remains fairly solid.

The company is seeking to open a freestanding store in the near future, probably sometime next year, and the search for a location is ongoing.
