Complaint Filed Against Polishing Machine Maker

March 30, 05 by Edahn Golan

A complaint has been filed with the Israeli police against diamond polishing machine manufacturer Dialit by its competitor, Yahalom, alleging that an email that was sent to Dialit’s Indian distributor by a Dialit manager was falsely signed by Yahalom owner Avraham Harar.

The companies are in the midst of court proceedings, during which Dialit submitted to the court a copy of an email allegedly sent by Harar asking their distributor in India if he wanted to also sell Yahalom polishing machines.

According to Harar, he never sent the email and asked the court to order the internet service provider to supply information on the email, which revealed that it was sent from a company owned by Dialit CEO Tzvi Porat.

According to court records, when the information was revealed, Dialit Marketing Manager Amram Leshed stated that he wanted to test their distributor in India, sending him the email without notifying Porat. The distributor forwarded the email to Leshed and Porat, who later submitted it to court as part of their case against Harar and his company.

Harar says in his complaint that this is not the first time that actions of this kind have taken place.

Dialit’s lawyer, Jacob Calderon, says in response: “The court has completely rejected Yahalom and Harar’s claims,”adding that “the court noted that the claim of deception in this case is completely insignificant”.
