Terry Janes Retiring as BHP Billiton Diamonds Marketing Director

Terry Janes will retire as BHP Billiton's marketing director diamonds, on July 1. According to a joint announcement by BHP's President of Marketing Tom Schutte and President of Diamonds & Specialty Products Alberto Calderon, he will be succeeded by Chris Ryder.
Janes joined BHP Billiton in December 1976 and has held a number of senior jobs, most recently within Diamonds. He played a key role in bringing the Ekati Diamond Mine to production in 1998. As marketing manager Europe, he set up the Diamonds Marketing office in
Ryder joined Dia Met Minerals, a Canadian publicly listed company as CFO in September 1999 and became a member of BHP Billiton in September 2001 upon the acquisition of Dia Met. After Dia Met was wound up in 2001, Ryder headed up Ekati Rough Marketing in
