HRD Opens First Diamond Grading Course in India

The HRD will hold its first Certified Diamond Grader Course in India next month. The Antwerp-based organization is implementing an international growth strategy that will also include opening a drop off window in Mumbai early next year. The grading course, an intensive two-week program, will be conducted by instructors from HRD Antwerp and balance between theory and practice. According to Devika Gidwani, HRD’s India COO and Country Head, participants will be get hands on training. “The course will cover diamond optics, all aspects of diamond grading as well as detection of imitations,” she added. Course graduates will earn the HRD Antwerp Certified Diamond Grader Diploma. In January, the grading lab will open a drop off window in Mumbai, Gidwani told IDEX Online. HRD already has a drop off service operating from the diamond exchange in Israel. Both are part of the HRD’s plan to increase its visibility in the global diamond centers.
