Goldfine Forms Talins, A Venue for Upcoming Israeli Designers

July 17, 08 by Edahn Golan

Providing a platform to budding designers with unique creations, Israeli jewelry firm Goldfine has opened Talins, a venue for an all-Israeli collection of jewelry and watches that builds on cooperation with the Shankar design collage.

Talins is the brainchild of brothers Shaul and Omri Azar, owners of Goldfine and fifth generation jewelry makers. Their two year cooperation with Shankar developed into creating the Talins framework that includes a studio and a store, as well as the manufacturing and marketing of the unique jewelry and watch items.

Currently, Talins hosts four young designers: jewelry designers Uranit Bar-Nes, Dana Bloom and Gregory Larin and watch maker/designer Itay Noy.

Bar-Nes and Bloom’s designs are three dimensional, airy and dynamic in motion. They are made of white and yellow gold, some are brushed, the others smooth, set with diamonds and color stones.

Larin’s unusual creations have a strong industrial feel. One of the collections uses printed paper with a bracelet, which succeeds in producing a very mechanical, yet light look.

Noy’s watch collections include a line called Second Second – old and used watches with their faces replaced to include photos of the original watch, and a line inspired by Google Earth with maps of city centers such as the heart of Paris with the Arch of Victory.

According to Shaul Azar, one of the ideas is to create and promote Israeli designers. Therefore, all the designers are Israeli, the manufacturing is in Israel and the designers will be promoted as Israeli under the Talins brand.
