M.J. Christensen To Close Galleria Mall Store Starts Consolidation Sale At All Four Las Vegas Locations

April 30, 09 by Courtesy National Jeweler Network

To mark another casualty of today's recessionary times, Nevada-based fine jeweler M.J. Christensen is closing its Galleria Mall location and offering discounts of up to 70 percent off as part of an eight-week consolidation sale at all four of its Las Vegas stores.

Beginning this week, the sale, considered the largest in the company's 70-year history according to the jeweler, will feature inventory valued at more than $10 million at retail, including fine watches and an array of bridal and fashion pieces.

"Among the brands represented in this sale are Charriol, Raymond Weil, Suzy Fabrikant, Jose Hess and Bedat and Co.," M.J. Christensen President and Chief Executive Officer Cliff Miller said in a media release. "Many of the designers with whom we work enjoy the challenge of creating pieces in a variety of price points. Consequently, there will be something for everyone in this extraordinary sale, with prices ranging from $25 to a quarter of a million dollars."

The sale is being managed by Agoura Hills, Calif.-based Buxbaum Jewelry Advisors, a division of Buxbaum Group, a turnaround advisory and inventory liquidation firm that's also managing the going-out-of-business sale for Bonita Springs, Fla.-based Henricks Jewelers.

According to M.J. Christensen, the jeweler is only closing its Galleria Mall location in Henderson, Nev., and will continue to operate its freestanding stores at Boca Park and Montecito Marketplace, both in Las Vegas, and at Eastern and Coronado in Henderson.

Monday-Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m.; Sunday, 11:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Boca Park, 8980 W. Charleston Blvd., Las Vegas:
