AGL Publishes Pricelist

Re-opening under new ownership, gemology lab American Gemological Laboratories (AGL), has released its first official price list. The list includes a breakdown for all the various costs of AGL’s services.

The price list includes the costs of the different gem reports, by size of gem, and according to the lab, the costs are competitive. “We have greatly simplified the fee structure,” the lab said in a statement.

AGL, a New York based lab that specializes in precious and semi precious gems, was owned by Collectors Universe, which decided to exit the gem grading business. It re-opened under the new ownership of Christopher P. Smith, AGL’s former vice president and chief gemologist for the past 2 years.
