Musician Alicia Keys Starts Jewelry Line

Singer Alicia Keys is starting her own company, AK Worldwide and the company's first venture will be releasing a jewelry line. Called the Barber's Daughters, the pieces are handcrafted and engraved with messages of hope and wisdom with the intent of inspiring the wearer.

Following the jewelry line, Keys plans on launching IAmASuperwoman.com, a website devoted to spotlighting inspirational women and causes.

The company will also provide the backbone for her charity work with Keep a Child Alive.

Keys says that while she will always be focused on her music career, AKW gives her the chance to channel some of her energy into projects she is interested in.
