Not winning a championship since 1961, the Blackhawks decided to make up for the lost ice with serious bling, a ring boasting 404 stones, totaling 8 carat of diamonds and other gemstones worth some $30,000.
The rings, designed and manufactured by Jostens, start with 14K white gold and the iconic Blackhawk Indian head logo prominently on the crown with Stanley Cup bordering the rim.
Each member of the team received a personalized ring featuring their name and number along with tomahawks, the four championship years (2010, 1961, 1938 and 1924).
“We were honored to help the Chicago Blackhawks capture their story with a ring that reflects the team’s memorable Stanley Cup season and their great tradition,” said Chris Poitras, Jostens' sports marketing director. “Understanding the importance of the Blackhawks’ iconic crest, Jostens’ master jewelers took an innovative design approach to successfully detail important team symbols in a one-of-a-kind championship ring.”
As a reminder of the battle the Blackhawks won to get to the Stanley Cup, underneath each ring are the names of the four teams they left in their ice-shavings: the Philadelphia Flyers, the San Jose Sharks, the Vancouver Canucks and the Nashville Predators.
