NCDIA Taps Gemologist Tom Gelb as Educational Director

Gelb, a GIA-certified gemologist with more than 18 years experience grading and evaluating natural color diamonds, is a former manager at GIA.
“Gelb is one of the top gemologists for color diamonds and we are pleased to have him working with us to enhance our educational programs to consumers and our growing membership base,” said Jordan Fine, secretary of the NCDIA.

Helping to further increase education about the sector, the NCDIA has developed new materials to send to its members. This includes a “Color Diamond Sales Pack,” which includes selling points and techniques for natural color diamonds.
Gelb is also starting a quarterly newsletter for all NCDIA members – the first will cover the subject of yellow diamonds. "I am very excited to be working with the NCDIA," he said. "I believe the focus on education will broaden the understanding of these beautiful gems.”
