S. Schnitzer Wins Outstanding Exporters Award to Japan
December 22, 16
(IDEX Online) – Israeli diamond manufacturer and exporter S. Schnitzer Diamonds has been awarded the Prize of Excellence for diamond exports from Israel to Japan for the year 2015, in the presence of Ambassador Koji Tomita.
S Schnitzer was nominated for the prize by the Japan-Israel Chamber of Commerce. The award ceremony was part of the celebrations of the Chamber's 60th anniversary.
The company chairman, Shmuel Schnitzer, who, like his late father Moshe, served several terms as President of the Israel Diamond Exchange, as well as two consecutive terms as President of the World Federation of Diamond Bourses (WFDB), expressed his and his sons' gratitude to the Chamber for awarding the prize.
"We are privileged to have been engaged with the Japanese diamond and jewelry sector for so long. We therefore thank all our Japanese friends and business partners who have helped us in achieving this award and look forward to further expanding our activity in this market, which is so close to our hearts," Schnitzer said.
"The Schnitzer family has been doing business with Japan for almost 70 years," said Shai Schnitzer, the company's President. "My grandfather, Moshe Schnitzer, began trading with Japan in the early 1950s, long before the Japanese adopted the diamond wedding ring tradition, and the ensuing, exponential growth of the Japanese diamond jewelry market. We have since built close, strong and multi-generational relationships with clients in Japan, and have been working with them through both good times and challenging times."
