U.S. Polished Diamond Imports Rise 3.85% in January

U.S. polished diamond imports rose in January 3.85 percent to $1.495 billion, while imports by volume declined 19.13 percent to 1.13 million carats, bringing the average value to $1,322 per carat (p/c).

 

The country’s polished diamond exports totaled $526.19 million on shipments of 951,987 carats, leaving a net of $969.04 million worth of goods with an average value of $769.49 p/c.

 

Israel shipped to the U.S. $821.71 worth of goods (gross) with an average value of $3,087.85 p/c, while India supplied $287.7 million in polished diamonds averaging $415.04 p/c.
