Steinmetz Designs Diamond Helmets for Monaco Grand Prix Drivers

Diamond manufacturing firm Steinmetz has created, with long-time partner Vodafone McLaren and Mercedes, personalized, diamond-encrusted helmets for drivers Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen. The helmets, which feature the Steinmetz logo and the drivers’ signatures, emblazoned in diamonds on the surface, will be used by the drivers throughout the Monaco Grand Prix event.

This marks the first time that any sponsor’s logo has been incorporated in to the design of the helmets through the application of diamonds, McLaren said in a release. The Steinmetz logo in this case has been pavéd on the helmets using Forevermark diamonds.
