December 27, 09 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

Russia’s list of approved rough diamond exporters is unchanged in 2010. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade has renewed the export permits of Alrosa and a number of its subsidiaries as well as for a number of miners and federal companies, according to an Interfax report.

The seven approved companies are Alrosa and its subsidiaries OJSC Alrosa-Nyurba, OJSC Almazy Aanbara and OJSC Severalmaz; and OJSC Nizhne-Lenskoye, CJSC Uralal-maz and Almazjuvelirexport.

Almazjuvelirexport exports goods owned by the precious metals and gemstones repository Gokhran.

Russia exported 8.183 million carats of rough diamonds worth $571.52 million in the January-September period, according to the country’s Finance Ministry and based on Kimberley Process records.
