Sotheby’s to Auction 24.78 carat Intense Pink Diamond

Sotheby’s estimates 24.78 ct fancy intense pink VVS2 diamond at $27-38 million

(IDEX Online News) - Sotheby’s Geneva Magnificent Jewels auction will include a 24.78-carat fancy intense pink VVS2 emerald cut diamond, though said to have flawless potential after re-polishing.

The fancy pink is a Type IIa diamond, a classification that less than 2 percent of diamonds have. The pink diamond carries a pre-sale estimate of $27-38 million.

The November 16 auction will highlight a number of colored diamonds. Sotheby’s will offer a 4.59-carat fancy intense pink diamond ring and a 12.16-carat fancy vivid yellow heart-shaped diamond ring.
