Kama Schacter Introduces Color-Enhanced Diamond Jewelry

August 27, 12 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

Jewelry by Kama Schachter

(IDEX Online News) – Mumbai-Headquartered manufacturer Kama Schachter recently introduced a collection of color-enhanced bridal and fashion jewelry. The line uses what the company calls exclusive “breakthrough technology” that results in color-enhanced diamonds at a fraction of the cost of natural color diamonds.

The Fiamma collection, which includes rings, earrings and pendants, features Italian design motifs using soft pink and vibrant yellow color-enhanced diamonds set in 14 karat gold and accented by natural white diamonds.

The color enhancement process was patented by U.S.-based Serenity Technologies. It consists of treating the pavilion side of white diamonds with an ion induction, synthetic overgrowth color treatment that substantially enhances the diamond’s color appearance.

“Until now, very few women had access to fancy colored diamonds. They were simply too rare to be affordable.” said Katherine Rosenberg, VP and creative director for Kama Schachter.  “Now – thanks to a stunning technological innovation - The Fiamma Collection brings beautiful, aspirational diamonds within easy reach of fashion-conscious women everywhere.”

“Naturally colored diamonds are magnificent in beauty, but prohibitively expensive-from $10,000 to $100,000 per carat,” said Colin Shah, MD & CEO of Kama Schachter Jewelry. “However, Fiamma color-enhanced diamonds will reproduce the beauty of fancy colored diamonds for $750 to $2,500 per carat.”
