Gemesis Creates 'Largest, Whitest, Lab-Created Diamond'

April 24, 13 by IDEX Online Staff Reporter

(IDEX Online News)
– Gemesis Diamond Company has created what it says is the world’s largest, whitest, lab-created diamond – a 1.29 carat, E, VVS2 clarity emerald-cut diamond with a retail value of $7,633.

The diamond has a grading certificate from the International Gemological Institute (IGI), and is classified as Type IIa, the rarest quality of diamonds.

Gemesis sells several different lab-created emerald, princess and round-cut diamonds in colors D, E and F on its website.

"This is a significant milestone," said Gemesis Director of Marketing, Martin DeRoy. He added that Gemesis would continue to produce high color stones (D to F) in larger sizes "with increased regularity in the near future.”
