(IDEX Online News)
– A 12-year-old boy has found a 5.16-carat diamond at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas after just 10 minutes of searching.

Michael Dettlaff's discovery is one of the largest diamonds ever found at the park.

Park officers registered the diamond under a name chosen by the boy – 'God's Glory Diamond' – and say it is the 27th largest diamond found since the site became a state park in 1972.

The diamond was the 328th found so far this year at the park, which averages about two diamonds a day.

Park officials say rainy spring months and hard rains in July helped expose the diamonds on the surface.
