Indian Polished Diamond Exports Soared 51% in July

– Indian exports of polished diamonds soared 51 percent higher on the year to $1.57 billion in July ‎‎, according to provisional figures from the Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC).

 

In the April-July period, polished exports rose by 37.8 percent to $6.65 billion.

 

Meanwhile, imports of polished goods surged by 86.7 percent to $549.0 million in July, and by 28.5 percent to $4.38 billion.

 

In rough diamonds, imports rose 39.4 percent to $1.68 billion in July, and by 29.0 percent to $6.61 billion in the April-July period.

 

Rough exports in July jumped by 70.4 percent to $140.7 million, and in the April-July period amounted to $629.1 million, a rise of 47.1 percent.
