Lucapa Shares Halt Trading After Large Diamond Discovery

January 02, 14 by Danielle Max

Diamonds Discovered by Lucapa

(IDEX Online News) – The shares of Lucapa Diamond Company have been placed in an Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) trading halt until an update about a 32.2-carat Type 2A diamond recovery is made.

The diamond was found at the company’s Lulo concession in Angola.

The trading halt will be in force either until either the announcement is made or the beginning of trade on Monday, January 6, depending which comes first.

Last month, the company announced it had recovered additional diamonds from its recently commissioned Dense Media Separation diamond plant. At the time of the announcement, the company had not sorted through the heavy concentrate, reported proactiveinvestors.

Lulo is operated as a joint venture between Lucapa and the Angolan government via state-owned diamond company Endiama, which is the exclusive concessionary for Angolan diamond mining rights.
