Leo Schachter Diamonds Heads 2013 Israeli Exporters List

(IDEX Online News) – The Diamond Administration of the Economy Ministry has published its list of the top 20 Israeli diamond exporters for 2013. The top spot was again taken by Leo Schachter Diamonds which registered a 3.5% increase in exports to $328 million from $317 million in 2012.

 

In second place was MID House of Diamonds, which increased sales by 3.8% to $247 million from $238 million in 2012. And in third place was A.A. Rachminov Diamonds, which posted an increase of 16.7% to $210 million for 2013 from $180 million in 2012.

 

The biggest rise in exports was recorded by D.N. Diamonds Israel. The company more than doubled its exports in 2013 from 2012, with an increase of 130% to $94 million from $41 million.

 

Of the top 20 export firms, all but four firms registered an increase in exports. The companies which posted decreases were: Niru Diamonds, with a decline of 7%, Polygem, which plunged by 25%, Rachminov Diamonds, which fell by 16%, and Eran Diamonds-Yehuda Sayag, which declined by 11%. Meanwhile, Shlomo Bichaci Diamonds was unchanged from the 2012 figures at $40 million.

 

The 2013 list includes two firms that were not on the list for 2012, but which appeared on the 2011 list. The firms are Kuperman Brothers Diamonds and Sigaldiem.

 

Kuperman Brothers Diamonds saw an increase of 12.3% with $64 million in exports in 2013, compared to $57 million in 2011, while Sigaldiem’s exports dropped by more than 50 percent to $32 million in 2013 from $69 million in 2011.

 

The Diamond Administration noted that the list does not include firms that did not wish their figures to be public knowledge.
