Forevermark 12.66-Ct Diamond Goes on Display in Australia

February 12, 14 by Albert Robinson

(IDEX Online News)
– The biggest diamond ever to be mined and cut in Canada has gone on display for the first time in the world in Australia.

The $1.5 million stone, recovered from De Beers Canada’s Victor diamond mine, is part of the first De Beers Forevermark brand collection to go on display in Australia.

“It was originally found four years ago at [weighing] 35.8 carats, and it's now at 12.66 carats,” Forevermark representative Daniel Storch told the Sydney Morning Herald. “It's been a seven-month cutting process.”

Many of the Forevermark collection items will be lent out to stars and celebrities attending the Oscar ceremony on March 2.
