GIA to Hold Lab-Grown Diamond Identification and Treatment Seminars at IDE

(IDEX Online News) – The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is organizing two seminars at the Israel Diamond Exchange (IDE) this month, the Israel Diamond Institute said on its website.  

 

The two-hour seminars will be presented by Dr. James Shigley and Brenda Harwick.

 

The “Identifying Synthetic Diamonds” seminar will include information on HPHT and CVD-grown synthetic diamonds and how to separate them from natural diamonds.

 

“Identifying Diamond Treatments” will present information about common diamond treatments of diamonds including laser drilled, fracture filled, HPHT, irradiation, and multiple treatment processes.

 

The seminars will take place on November 15-16.
