Hope and Patience is Name of the Game at VicenzaOro

– Nearly 1300 exhibitors from 32 countries are concluding today the Spring edition of VicenzaOro. Jewelers, diamond and gem traders were all expressing concern over Europe's economic situation, a concern that did not prevent them from presenting the best of their creations.

Jewelers took advantage of the slower trade environment that Europe is suffering from, focusing on marketing efforts.

The continent's looming struggles led designers in different directions. Some decided to enlarge but lighten their designs to give their jewelry a larger presence but maintain price points.

Other jewelers are aiming to higher-end costumers, which continue to buy jewelry.

The scattering is also evident in the designs. Floral designs are continued to be seen, and more smoothed gold surfaces then before, however there are less mixtures of colors or materials. The themes are wide range.

Diamond traders aimed to cover the cost of their attendance, saying they are expecting an improvement in local business only after Europe resolves its economic woes.

Inline with the economic situation, fair organizers formed a number of alliances, including one with Dubai aimed at increasing trade between pair participants and the Gulf region.

An increased emphasis on education took the form of an in depth gemological workshop, lectures, and a jewelry awards.

Most importantly was holding the World Jewellery Forum, an intensive ten days that included the annual meeting of the World Diamond Council, the annual Congress of CIBJO and the fair itself.

CIBJO held a major seminar as part of its ongoing project with the UN's ITCCO (International Training Center of Corporate Opportunities).
