Alrosa Sells 18,500 Carats Of Diamonds

Russian diamond monopoly Alrosa sold 18,500 carats of diamonds worth more than $18 million at the second international auction organized together with the Russian Diamond Chamber from January 26 to March 4, the company said.

 

The company offered only large rough diamonds that were over 50 carats, with the largest weighing more than 649 carats. Altogether, 97 lots of rough diamonds were sold.

 

Among bidders taking part in auctions, there were 38 Russian and foreign companies that were invited by Alrosa to take part in the auction.
